Rise to the top: Egerton Rise development scoops national award
September 12, 2022 | Dan ToddOnward Living is celebrating success for the second year running, after its Egerton Rise development was awarded ‘Best Small Development’ at the First Time Buyer Readers’ Awards 2022.
The development of seven 3-bedroom homes for shared ownership, situated in the popular seaside town of New Brighton, Wirral, has received the honour in recognition of using best design and quality to create a desirable, affordable, and inspiring place for buyers to set up their first home.
The stylish three-storey terraced homes were completed in November 2021 and offered local home-hunters the opportunity to live in the heart of New Brighton’s thriving Victoria Quarter, just a stone’s throw from the promenade.
The 3-bedroom homes at Egerton Rise were available from £82,000 for a 40% share, with a 5% deposit starting from as little as £4,100, making it easier for first-time buyers to get a foot on the property ladder.
Egerton Rise was one of three developments shortlisted by an expert panel of judges in the ‘Best Small Development’ category. The shortlisted entries were then subject to a round of voting by readers of First Time Buyer Magazine before Onward Living was announced as the winner at a special awards ceremony held at the London Marriott Hotel in Grosvenor Square on Friday 2 September.
Simon Pickering, interim head of sales at Onward Living, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to pick up this award for our small but perfectly formed Egerton Rise development in New Brighton.
“To win an award for the second year in a row is a fantastic achievement for our team and our colleagues in Development, but also testament to the great work we do in partnership with our contractors to create much-needed affordable new homes in areas where people want to live.”
This latest accolade for Onward Living comes after its Elizabethan Terrace development in Whitefield, Greater Manchester, won ‘Best New Development in the North’ at last year’s event.
Now in its 13th year, the First Time Buyer Readers’ Awards celebrates the aspirational lengths that housebuilders go to help people buy a home of their own.
