Social media house rules
Here are the house rules for our Onward Living social media accounts including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube. We reserve the right to modify or change these conditions at any time.
We have a set of simple house rules for our main social media platforms, to keep our online community a safe and friendly place for everyone.
We want you to engage with us on social media, but we will remove posts when our house rules aren’t observed. We may also block users without explanation if any of these guidelines are breached.
It’s public
Keep in mind that whatever you post/comment on social media is public, and everyone can see it. You are legally responsible for any content you post or share.
Only post comments you would feel comfortable saying to someone in person and remember you can always send us a direct message if you don’t want your message to be public. Please do not share any personal information about yourself or others on our public accounts, such as home address, bank details and other private/confidential information.
Keep it clean
Do not use swear words or post rude comments on our profiles. If you are rude or offensive, we will remove your comments (this includes racist, sexist, homophobic or otherwise offensive remarks). We will also remove comments and/or accounts that are likely to disrupt, provoke, spam, attack or offend anyone.
Keep it on track
We want to use our social media platforms to keep you updated with our latest developments, home ownership options and good news stories. We want it to be a place you can share with us too.
Monitoring our profiles can take a lot of time, so we need to make sure discussions stay on track. If we feel that you are trying to detract from our message or conversations of others on our pages, including dominating our page, advertising products or services, posting the same message, or a similar message, repeatedly, or posting any fake news, we may delete your post.
Repeat offenders may be banned from our profiles.
Bullying
We will not tolerate any form of bullying, harassment or victimisation on our social media pages, and we take this extremely seriously. Let us know if you think anyone is using our profiles to bully or intimidate and we will remove the offending comments.
If you’re offensive towards our organisation, or anyone who works for us, or runs the organisation, we may remove these comments. We’ll also remove comments which name individuals who work for us. If you wish to make a complaint, please do this through our formal complaint channels: Compliments and complaints – Onward
Our responses
We’ll do our best to respond to your enquiries as soon as possible, we are a small team, so please bear with us.
Our working hours are 9am to 5pm from Monday to Friday. We’ll deal with enquiries sent outside these times as soon as possible when working hours resume.
Terms of use
It’s important to us that you comply with the terms of use of the social media networks. You can read Facebook’s terms of use, Instagram’s terms of use, and Twitter’s Terms of service.
Any comments that breach these terms will be deleted and reported to the social media networks.
Thank you for taking the time to read our house rules.
